Keeping Loved Ones Safe
If you suspect drug use in your child’s room and want a discreet and effective way to confirm your suspicions, EK9D can help. Our handler-dog team is trained to detect the presence of narcotics such as cocaine, heroin, Fentanyl, MDMA and methamphetamine in your home.
We prioritize your privacy and confidentiality throughout the process. EK9D operates in an unmarked car, and our handlers wear regular street clothes, not uniforms, to maintain discretion. We understand that unwanted confrontation can be counterproductive, so we work with you to schedule the search at a time that suits your needs.
During the search, our highly trained and experienced EK9D dog will indicate any detected narcotics with a simple passive sit or a standing stare. Our handler will identify the location indicated by the dog, leaving the next steps up to you. It’s important to note that we are not associated with law enforcement agencies and are not obligated to notify them about the search or its results.
What to Expect During a Residential Search
Before arriving at your residence, we will contact you to discuss the plan of action upon our arrival. Here are the key points we will cover:
We will determine the best time to conduct the search, keeping in mind the importance of the suspected user not being present to avoid interference. We can schedule appointments during non-traditional business hours to ensure convenience and discretion.
For most residential searches, our handlers will arrive in regular street clothes to maintain a low profile. This way, if anyone observes our arrival, it will simply appear like a friend visiting with their dog.
If you have pets, we will discuss how to confine them in a separate area of the house or property to prevent interference during the search and reduce their stress.
Depending on the layout of your home and where the suspected user spends most of their time, we will determine specific search areas. In most cases, we recommend searching the entire residence.
Upon arriving at your home, the handler will come to your door while leaving the canine in their vehicle. They will ensure that any pets are confined to a safe area and ask for a tour of the search areas. After the tour, the handler will discuss the plan of action, answer any questions, collect payment, and have you sign EK9D’s standard services agreement.
The Search
The search will then begin, with you accompanying the handler and the K9 team throughout the home. The handler will lead the dog through each room in a designated pattern, paying attention to subtle signs that the dog may show. Any areas indicated by the dog will be marked, providing specific locations for you to further investigate once the search is complete. If requested, the handler can observe your search for narcotics, providing general guidance on how and where to look. Please note that the dog’s highly sensitive nose may detect residue from previously stored drugs, even if the drugs aren’t currently present.
If Found
If substances are found during the search and there’s doubt about their nature, we can use a field test kit to confirm whether they are illegal narcotics. If narcotics are indeed found, it is the responsibility of the homeowner to dispose of them, as EK9D personnel are strictly prohibited from removing narcotics. We can provide you with disposal recommendations. If you require, we can provide a written report within three business days of the search. Please note, that there is an additional fee for a report, as well as for drug identification confirmation.
Our comprehensive search covers various areas within your facility, including employee lockers, offices, desks, cubicles, breakrooms, restrooms, warehouses, parking lots, vehicles, and the surrounding grounds.
EK9D is committed to helping businesses maintain a drug-free environment and protect their reputation, productivity, and overall success.
